State & Federal Tax Incentives

STATE INCENTIVES

Efficiency Vermont has increased incentives available to each household to $2,500, they have removed all income restrictions on eligibility and they have streamlined incentive approvals with a second generation of custom software. Together with other incentives, $250 is available toward the cost of energy assessments to all Vermont homeowners who reduce air leakage by 10% or more. Energy improvements that owners were previously likely to defer are now getting done. Click here for a full listing of these incentives.

New Hampshire's electric utilities administer residential rebate incentives, and incentives vary by service area, and type of fuel. Overall incentives for weatherization and heating equipment can be quite generous, with a $4000 limit being typical. Some offer rebates for programmable thermostats and mild weather reset controls for boilers that raise efficiency with minimal disturbance in the home.

A separate array of New Hampshire programs addresses commercial, non-profit and municipal needs.
